The midrange

Our aluminum cone of the woofer / midrange is due to its hardness and high natural resonant frequency best suited for a detailed and extremely low-distortion reproduction. The thickness of the diaphragm is chosen to provide the necessary stability and lightness for precise mids. The durable surround ensures that the ECP-M4 loses none of its precise reproduction, even at high levels and thus higher diaphragm excursions. The Compo ECP-M4 owes its clean, crisp reproduction and level capabilities to the midrange driver's powerful strontium ferrite magnets. Details such as the aluminum die-cast basket with optimized temperature management, the butyl rubber surround, a copper cap on the pole core, a 2-layer copper wire voice coil on temperature-resistant aluminum voice coil carrier or the durable Connex center spider with woven voice coil lead underline the value of these speakers.

The tweeter

The 25 mm tweeter with fabric dome convinces with its warm sound image and can reproduce even the smallest music details. The diaphragm geometry provides a uniform directional characteristic for excellent sound under a wide variety of installation situations. In addition to the low weight of the diaphragm, surround and voice coil, the conscious decision not to use ferrofluid is primarily responsible for the fact that the tweeter plays so vividly, spatially and without coloration.

The crossover

For the ECP-M4 10 cm Compo System, two crossover frequencies can be selected for the tweeter to acoustically compensate for the spatial distance to the midrange driver, which can be shorter or longer depending on the installation situation. The crossover components were defined in intensive series of tests in the laboratory and in the vehicle to achieve the best possible phasing of the components. The result is authentic voices and instruments, their precise stage imaging with impressive spatial depth.

• Two crossover frequencies can be selected for the tweeter in order to acoustically compensate the spatial distance to the midrange driver depending on the installation situation
• Three-stage level adjustment for the tweeter
• Separate crossover housings for tweeter and woofer for best possible installation convenience, no mutual interference of the two signal paths due to chokes being too close together
• Use of high-quality air core coils, MKP capacitors and MOX resistors in the direct signal path
